The ventilated half-mask is made of fire-resistant material and covers the mouth and nose area completely, while a high-performance TH3 filter unit protects against smoke, soot particles, fine dust, nitrogen oxides, ozone and viruses. The respiratory protection system provides fresh air regardless of the activity or environment.
In addition, a number of features are implemented to reduce wearer fatigue. For example, breathing is supported by an overpressure in the mask and a shoulder harness ensures that the weight of the filter system (only 550g) is ergonomically distributed.
Through many loops of testing and optimisation, Quo has developed a variety of solutions to a number of challenges: UX, volume-to-weight reduction, a new type of air supply, a modular unit design and the utilisation of a sophisticated textile are just a few examples. The final design meets the highest ergonomic standards.
By keeping the breathing system completely separated from the rest of the work equipment, Swiss Air can therefore be used in a wide range of industries, including medical applications.
Swiss Air is produced by Optrel AG and is available in specialist retail stores.
In 2012, Optrel won a RedDot Award with Swiss Air.
