Quo applied all four of its design services to holistically address this challenge: Numerous discussions about the relevant needs resulted in a collection of potential concepts and prototypes (Product Design). Through rigorous usability testing and a long-term study with potential users, ZipUp was refined step-by-step (People Design).
Quo not only focused on the product itself, but designed a holistic service facilitating the ordering process to meet the needs of the customer group (Service Design). A business case was made to provide a foundation for pricing and to identify further user groups (Business Design).
The result is ZipUp - a practical, discreet product with a holistic service. ZipUp supports people with tactile sensory impairments in their daily lives and gives them back a great deal of independence.
ZipUp is industrialised, tested and commercially available at www.active-shop.ch.
Many thanks to the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and the other partners for the successful collaboration.
